Which dental crown is better: all-ceramic porcelain or porcelain fused to metal (PFM)?
In terms of strength and functionality both crowns are comparable. The advantage of the ceramic crown is it requires more precise grinding than PFM crowns. Porcelain crown are also more aesthetic, particularly in the gum area (due to absence of the metal frame).
When is it advisable to repeat endodontic treatment?
- In the case of inaccurate endodontic treatment based on X-ray.
- In case of lack of reconstruction of the dental crown. It causes long-term (over a month) contact between the root canal filling and the mouth environment.
- If it’s planned to make a new filling for a tooth, in which endodontic treatment wasn’t performed correctly.
