Microscope - endodontic treatment under a microscope
They use a treatment microscope which allows to enlarge the treatment field up to 27 times and to illuminate it with an additional independent source of strong light. Thanks to the magnification of the treatment field it is possible to identify previously undetectable anatomical structures, visualise root canals as well as see obliteration, narrowing or perforation. This allows not only a perfect preparation and filling of root canals, but also enables the performance of many difficult procedures, such as
- removal of a broken instrument from the root canal,
- re-healing of an improperly filled root canal,
- finding the mouth and filling an additional root canal.
- Often teeth which are qualified for removal can be saved thanks to microscopic endodontics.

Cofferdam application in dental treatment
There are many indications for the use of cofferdam in dental treatment. The most important of them is safety. Application of this protection method prevents the patient from swallowing the tool. Another important issue is the isolation of the tooth from the oral environment and from the access of saliva, which could contaminate the treatment area, making it difficult to maintain its sterility. The isolation of the tooth from humidity also allows the placement of a tight and durable filling. It is also important for the patient to be able to swallow saliva and protect the soft tissues from possible mechanical or chemical trauma – the agents used in the treatment.
