Implantology is a branch of dentistry which is the most advanced method of replacing missing teeth. It allows you to restore a beautiful and natural smile, and above all, to rebuild the lost chewing function. In planning treatment we are always guided by medical indications analysing anatomical and morphological bone structure. Getting to know our patients, we try to meet their expectations with respect to treatment, both in terms of aesthetics and function of the implantoprosthetic solutions applied.
Dental implants are small screws made of biocompatible materials placed during surgery in the jawbone. They are intended to replace the root of a missing tooth and create a foundation for prosthetic restorations (crowns or ceramic bridges). After the implant is placed in the bone, the process of osseointegration, i.e. permanent connection of the living bone tissue with the implant surface, takes place.
STAGES OF IMPLANT TREATMENT
Diagnostics and treatment planning
Diagnostics and treatment planning include an extensive general medical and dental history. We focus on obtaining information on general diseases that may affect implant treatment planning, learning the cause of tooth loss, hygienic habits and the patient’s needs and expectations. At this stage of treatment we perform necessary additional examinations: radiovisiography, pantomography, computed tomography. They allow us to assess the amount and condition of the bone that is to serve as a base for the implant, the condition of the teeth adjacent to the gap and the size and location of anatomical structures that may hinder the procedure.
Surgical stage
The surgical stage consists of inserting the implant in the right position into the jawbone. This procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. In exceptional situations the procedure may be performed under anaesthesia.
Prosthetic stage
Once the process of integration of the implant with the bone is completed (from 3 to 6 months), the final prosthetic treatment is carried out, i.e. restoration based on implants (e.g. crowns, bridges, dentures).

An implant works in the same way as a natural tooth root, allowing the bone of the alveolar process to be preserved;
The implants are made of biocompatible materials, i.e. very well tolerated by the human body and do not cause allergic reactions;
An implant may serve for life;
With implants, there is no need to grind the adjacent healthy teeth, which is required by traditional crown and bridge making procedures.
